Ultrafast Lasers for Advanced Materials Processing, Microprocessing, and Industrial Applications
Ultrafast Lasers for Advanced Materials Processing, Microprocessing, and Industrial Applications
Presented by:
Tony Karam, IPG PhotonicsUltrafast lasers with picosecond and femtosecond pulse durations have become a tool of choice for many high precision microprocessing applications. The increase in adoption of ultrafast lasers in industrial processes require robust and highly reliable platforms that can operate 24/7 with limited down time. Karam details ultrafast technologies driving solutions in novel applications and industries for display production, battery manufacturing, and precision micromachining.
About the presenter
Tony Karam, Ph.D., has completed a doctorate and postdoctoral fellowship in ultrafast lasers and ultrafast electron diffraction. He worked under the mentorship of Nobel laureate Ahmed Zewail and published over 40 manuscripts, patents, and proceedings. Karam has worked as a product manager in the optics and laser industry for the last 7 years and has been the product manager for ultrafast lasers at IPG Photonics for the last 2 and a half years.
