Raman Optical Filters for Food Safety
Raman Optical Filters for Food Safety
Presented by:
Hongbai Lao, Iridian Spectral TechnologiesOptical filters are critical components in Raman spectroscopy instrumentation. The key role of the optical filter is to prevent all undesired light from reaching the spectrometer and swamping the relatively weak Raman signal. Edge filters offer better transmission, higher laser-line blocking, and the steepest edge performance to see Raman signals extremely close to the laser line.
Increasing demands for portable analytical instruments are driven by the identification requirements in pharmaceutical drug species detection and food safety detection. The steeper edge and broader blocking are required for the optical filters to detect the Raman signal in the regions closer to the laser lines. Optical configuration optimization is required to optimize the filter performance.
