How to Achieve High-Quality Fluorescence Images
Presented by:
Stefanie Kiderlen, ibidi GmbHAchieving high-quality fluorescence images requires more than access to advanced microscopes, optimized labware, and refined sample preparation protocols—it depends on a carefully controlled workflow that spans every step from sample to setup.
This talk provides a practical overview of the key factors influencing fluorescence image quality. Starting with an overview of how to determine the right labware, considering both its design and optical properties, for different types of samples. Additionally, essential aspects of sample preparation, such as labeling, mounting, and handling, will be discussed, with emphasis on how inadequate or inconsistent protocols can degrade signal quality and compromise data reliability.
Building on this foundation, the presentation will examine various fluorescence microscopy techniques and provide guidance on selecting the most appropriate method for different samples and experimental objectives. Participants will gain a detailed understanding of how each element of the imaging pipeline impacts image quality and how these parameters can be systematically optimized to achieve robust, reproducible, and high-quality fluorescence data.
