Measurement Challenges of Green and Blue Lasers

Presented by: Nicolas Meunier, Ophir, an MKS brand

The automotive industry is facing tremendous change, including the advent of the electric car. To address the growing need to weld the copper required for electric vehicles, new high-power green and blue laser technologies are emerging. Whether connecting large battery packs or welding motor hairpins, laser experts agree on the need to measure laser parameters to ensure the quality of the produced parts. But there are challenges when dealing with green or blue lasers. What are the options with these new wavelengths, and how can you measure in an automated production line? What are best practices for gaining reliable data for troubleshooting, predictive maintenance, and quality documentation? Nicolas Meunier explains these challenges and how to address them.
