High-Throughput Hyperspectral Imaging without Image Degradation

Presented by: Rand Swanson, Resonon Inc.

Because hyperspectral imagers divide the signal into many spectral bands, the instrument can be light-starved and therefore provide noisy data, which in turn leads to poor object classification. A high-level view will be used to examine this problem and explore approaches to enhance the signal. One of the most common approaches increases the signal at the expense of imaging performance. A new design is presented that maintains high optical throughput with minimal image degradation.

About the presenter
Rand SwansonRand Swanson, Ph.D., is CEO of Resonon Inc. He co-founded Resonon almost 20 years ago, drawing on vast experience in hyperspectral imaging technology. With a focus on improving hyperspectral imaging devices, he has dedicated himself to building developments that will enable more efficient and higher-quality results. As a senior scientist at Resonon, he has led R&D projects and published technical papers focused primarily on hyperspectral imaging metrology and innovations. He currently holds several patents on related technology.
