PROMOTED: One shot: Polarization Characteristics of VCSELs
One shot: Polarization Characteristics of VCSELs
Presented by:
Karthik Iyer, Instrument Systems GmbH3D sensor technology has developed into a ‘game-changer’ for smart products using vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) as efficient light sources. VCSEL-based sensor technology supports applications such as AI, internet-of-things (IoT) and AR/VR technologies; it also simplifies the integration of smart systems into our everyday chores. However, because VCSELs have special properties, their characterization is more complex than that of other typical laser sources.
In this presentation, Karthik Iyer guides attendees through:
- Special aspects of VCSEL testing.
- Challenges along the complete value chain.
- How to establish a full VCSEL characterization.
- Requirements of polarization control.
About the presenter
Karthik Iyer, Ph.D., is product manager for VCSEL testing at Instrument Systems GmbH in Munich, Germany. He has a fluent background in electrical engineering as well as in VCSEL testing and characterization.
About the sponsor(s)- Instrument Systems Optische Messtechnik GmbH - Instrument Systems fosters innovative product ideas with the development of high-level light measurement technology. Instrument Systems measuring solutions are indispensable for producers of consumer electronics, displays, VCSEL/laser-based systems, exterior automotive lighting, and LED/SSL modules.
