Ensuring Stable Processing with High-Power Continuous Wave Lasers through Targeted Beam Analysis
Presented by:
Christof Blumenstein, PRIMES GmbHPowerful, yet sensitive: High-power laser beams are easily disturbed before reaching the metallic workpiece. Changes in the relevant beam parameters can be subtle, like gradually increasing focus shift, but result in unacceptable part quality.
In this talk, Blumenstein visualizes the most important beam parameters and presents actionable insights on how to track, evaluate, and handle them. This includes the statistical analysis of more than 3000 individual beam caustic measurements which nicely reveals the unavoidable beam degradation through optical guidance systems.
About the presenterChristof Blumenstein is head of sales and marketing at PRIMES GmbH. Together with his 27-strong team, he serves and consults customers worldwide, drawing from his wealth of experience in laser beam diagnostics. With his deep understanding of both measurement technology and modern laser applications, he takes every challenge in characterizing laser beams. Prior to joining PRIMES in 2011, he earned his degree in optical technology and digital image processing at Hochschule Darmstadt.
