About This Webinar
Andrea Fiore presents an integrated near-infrared (NIR) spectral sensing technology suitable for portable and in-line spectroscopy applications. The technology consists of an array of spectrally selective semiconductor photodetectors, with responses covering the 900- to 1650-nm range, and it can be mass manufactured. Fiore describes the concept, principles, and design of the technology, and he provides several application examples.

***This presentation premiered during the 2022 Photonics Spectra Spectroscopy Conference. For more information on Photonics Media conferences, visit events.photonics.com.

About the presenter:
Andrea FioreAndrea Fiore, Ph.D., is a full professor within the Department of Applied Physics at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in the Netherlands. He holds a doctorate in optics from the University of Orsay in Paris (now the University of Paris-Saclay). Fiore has worked previously with Thales Research and Technology; the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB); the National Research Council of Italy (CNR); and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). He is also co-founder and management team member of the Eindhoven Hendrik Casimir Institute (EHCI) at TU/e. Fiore’s major areas of expertise include nanophotonics, optical sensing, and quantum photonics. His research interests are in the field of nanophotonic devices, particularly nanoscale light sources and detectors and integrated optical sensors.
