Tunable Lenses Magnify Possibilities of Spectroscopy Applications

Presented by: Branislav Timotijevic, Optotune AG

Spectroscopic market growth has been noticeable in recent years, specifically in Raman-based applications such as authentication and counterfeit detection, incoming quality control, and airport and homeland security. Requirements for precise light excitation and sampling, together with the need for high-numerical aperture (high-NA) in low signal environments, impose the use of high-performing, versatile optics.

Timotijevic shares how focus tunable lenses and 2D mirrors can be used to address the common pain points of spectroscopic instrumentation including beam size, lateral and vertical beam scanning, and depth of field.
