About This Webinar
In this presentation, Field introduces a cutting-edge, 3D freeform volumetric index of refraction gradient optics (VIRGO) technology platform that includes engineered optical nanocomposites, inkjet-print systems, and custom-designed tools. This technology promises applications in wafer scale optics, AR/VR optics, lightfield display, mobile phone imaging optics, and future developments on the horizon.

***This presentation premiered during the 2021 Photonics Spectra Optics Conference. For information on upcoming Photonics Media events, see our event calendar here.

About the presenter
James FieldJames Field is vice president of NanoVox and is responsible for the commercialization of NanoVox's technology platform, which includes tunable gradient refractive index (GRIN) materials, inkjet-print additive manufacturing fabrication processes, and optical CAD tools. His work includes supporting emerging applications enabled by GRIN optics, identifying NanoVox products, and optimizing their uses.

Before joining NanoVox, Field was president of Raytex Corp. and vice president of business development at Eolite Systems in Bordeaux, France. He founded and was vice president of sales and marketing of Deep Photonics, a developer of high-power, infrared visible and ultraviolet picosecond fiber lasers for use in the semiconductor manufacturing, micromachining, photovoltaics, aerospace, and medical markets. He has also been general manager of Electro Scientific Industries.
