This presentation will introduce a cutting-edge, 3D freeform Volumetric Index of Refraction Gradient-Index Optics (VIRGO) optical technology platform that includes engineered optical nanocomposites, inkjet-print platforms, and custom design tools.
About the presenter
James Field is vice president of NanoVox, responsible for the commercialization of NanoVox's technology platform that includes: tunable gradient refractive index (GRIN) materials, inkjet-print AM fabrication processes, and optical CAD tools. His work includes identifying and optimizing the NanoVox product portfolio for partners in applications for wafer scale optics, AR/VR optics, lightfield display, mobile phone imaging optics, and supporting new emerging applications enabled by gradient refractive index optics.
Before joining NanoVox, Field was president of Raytex Corporation and vice president of business development at Eolite Systems (Bordeaux, France). He was the founder and vice president of sales and marketing of Deep Photonics, a developer of high-power, infrared, visible and ultraviolet picosecond fiber lasers for use in semiconductor manufacturing, micromachining, photovoltaics, aerospace, and medical markets. He has also been general manager of Electro Scientific Industries.
