Benefits of Transmission Gratings for UV-VIS Spectroscopy
Presented by:
Tobias Buchmann, Ibsen PhotonicsUV-VIS spectroscopy is one of the most established and widely adopted optical analytical techniques. Most instruments are designed with reflective blazed or holographic gratings, while the elevated potential of transmission gratings — particularly in the UV-VIS range — remain far less recognized. Especially fused-silica transmission gratings can offer performance improvement opportunities for both UV-only and broadband spectrometers.
This presentation introduces transmission gratings tailored for the UV and UV-VIS wavelength range and compares the performance with commonly used blazed and holographic gratings.
About the presenter
Tobias Buchmann, Ph.D., is the international business development manager at Ibsen Photonics, combining a doctoral degree and post graduate work with expertise in ultrafast optics, high-energy laser systems, and THz spectroscopy.
Buchmann bridges advanced research with industry, developing scalable optical hardware and high-power laser solutions. With strong technical insight, he helps customers identify and implement the right spectroscopy solutions for their technical and business needs.
