Next-Level Material Sensing: Miniaturized NIR Spectrometers for Consumer Applications

Presented by: Robert Brückner, Senorics

Brückner presents a novel organic semiconductor technology that is being implemented inside of a miniature, 16-pixel near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopic sensor. He explains applications for this technology, which range from industry to home appliances and more.

About the presenter
Robert BrücknerRobert Brückner, Ph.D., is co-founder and CTO of Senorics. He received his doctorate in physics from the Technical University of Dresden (TU Dresden), with a focus on organic optoelectronics. He later worked as a postdoc within the Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden (CfAED) Cluster of Excellence at TU Dresden. In 2015, Brückner helped develop the Senorics business concept and was awarded the 2016 futureSAX Innovation Prize from the state of Saxony for the idea. Also in 2016, he received the Carl Zeiss Award for Young Researchers. Carl Zeiss AG would later become an official partner of Senorics in 2019. Senorics was founded in 2017, with Brückner serving as CTO. The company raised €10 million in venture capital from its first two financing rounds.
