Versatile Raman Solutions for Tomorrow’s Challenges: Semiconductors, Materials, and Beyond
Versatile Raman Solutions for Tomorrow’s Challenges: Semiconductors, Materials, and Beyond
Presented by:
Andrew Carpenter, Oxford InstrumentsAcross industrial and academic spaces, Raman spectroscopy and imaging techniques compose a powerful suite of tools that can provide chemical and spatially specific information. These methodologies can broadly be applied, but the application will drive the instrumental technological complexity and need. With an eye towards tomorrow’s challenges and opportunities – Raman is well positioned to contribute to the development of compound semiconductor materials and characterize 2D quantum materials while continuing to contribute to the pharmaceutical, polymer material, and geological characterization markets.
This talk will be a choose-your-own-adventure of sorts. Through sampling the technology and application space, different modalities of Raman spectroscopy/imaging will be highlighted to demonstrate the opportunities Raman affords scientists of all backgrounds and industries. Whether your interest is the simplest spectroscopy experiment or the most advanced, cutting-edge, correlative Raman imaging methodology (ex. AFM or SEM), this webinar aims to give you the tools to understand the Raman technology available on the market and the potential applications to your unique challenges.
About the presenter
Andrew Carpenter, Ph.D., is a product specialist for Oxford Instruments, which manufactures spectrographs, cameras, and confocal Raman microscopy systems. He works with industrial and academic customers to identify the appropriate technological solutions for their imaging and spectroscopy needs. Before joining OI, he spent over a decade building advanced spectroscopy systems to study broad classes of materials including multi-phase systems, environmental interfaces, and bioengineered coatings.
