Fiber Lasers: An Enabling Technology for E-Mobility Applications

Fiber lasers are pivotal to many processes in the e-mobility manufacturing chain. Jack Gabzdyl discusses several fiber laser applications. In battery manufacture, fiber lasers are extensively used in applications from the cutting of battery foils to the welding of the bus bars in battery packs. In the manufacture of electric motors, the cleaning and even the welding of the electrical hairpins are ideal applications for lasers.
