About This Webinar
The semiconductor, micromachining, and ophthalmology markets, and even the emerging quantum computing market all heavily influence the direction for future high-performance laser developments. Today, demand in these markets is increasingly favoring some combination of fiber lasers and frequency conversion to replace the solid-state, diode, gas, and excimer lasers currently in use.

Solid-state, diode, and gas lasers have matured to the point where they can meet the increased requirements for power scaling and reliability only at the cost of significantly compromising laser performance.

Meanwhile, improvements in frequency-conversion crystal technology and fiber amplification have made it possible to scale laser power well beyond what has traditionally been possible with technologies currently in use — without compromising performance.

Jensen explores this new paradigm specifically as it applies to emerging quantum computing applications, which are currently providing the most aggressive development roadmap for high-performance laser systems.
