Laser Measurement Accuracy: Why, When, and How
Laser Measurement Accuracy: Why, When, and How
Presented by:
Mark Slutzki, MKS OphirLaser power or energy output directly affects a system’s ability to perform reliable and correctly. Consequently, accurately measuring a laser’s output is fundamental to ensuring that it performs reliably and correctly — from when the laser is first manufactured to its integration into a system, and to its final application.
Slutzki discusses when and why absolute calibration accuracy matters (and when it doesn’t). He shares best practices for maximizing the accuracy of readings, and he provides an overview of how to understand a power meter’s accuracy specifications and where the numbers come from.
About the presenter
Mark Slutzki has been with Ophir since 2004 and serves as product manager for power and energy measurement solutions. Prior to that, he held similar positions in the semiconductor and telecom industries. Slutzki did military service as a research physicist working on special projects in the Israeli Air Force. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electro-optics and applied physics. He can be reached at mark.slutzki@mks.com.
